Gelato is one of Cheetah Piss’s three parents: Leafly lists “Gelato 42” as another name for Gelato itself, a Sunset Sherbet × Thin Mint GSC hybrid that Leafly users call relaxed, aroused and euphoric.1,2 The parent tests higher in state labs: 21.58% median THC against 18.82% for Cheetah Piss.3 Both lead with the same three terpenes in the same order: β-caryophyllene, limonene and α-humulene.3

Which Gelato?

The number is the open question: Leafly’s Cookies-family genealogy lists the Gelato selections that went into production in 2014 as 25, 33, 41, 43, 45 and 49, GreenState, citing Gelato’s breeder, writes that “Gelato 42 has never been a thing”, and Premium Cultivars’ seed listing names Gelato 45 as the parent instead.5,6,7 Gelato and Gelato 45 each have their own guide in the Official Cannabis network, at gelatostrain.com and gelato45.com.

Which is easier to find

On Oct 4, 2026, 101 stores within 50 miles of Los Angeles listed Cheetah Piss flower on Weedmaps, against 202 stores for Gelato; around New York the counts were 18 and 125.8
