How published THC figures compare
Strain databases publish a single figure: Leafly lists 25% THC (with 1% CBG), AllBud 20%, and SeedFinder about 20% THC and 25% total cannabinoids; Weedmaps publishes no range.2,3,4,5 Seed sellers advertise 20% for Zamnesia’s autoflower and 25% for Premium Cultivars’ seeds.6,7 In state lab results, 90% of Cheetah Piss flower tested below 23.86% and only 6.7% reached 25%, so the 25% figures describe the top of the range rather than typical flower.1 The highest single result was 33.65%.1
The yearly median rose from 17.15% in 2020 (73 tests) to 19.79% in 2022 (79).1 Years with fewer than 50 tests are too thin for a trend (23 in 2023, 8 in 2024).1 By state, medians ran from 17.05% in Nevada (129 tests) to 20.70% in Maryland (70).1 Flower labelled with the Cookies brand accounts for 99 of the results (33.2%), all from Nevada in 2020–2021.1

Limits of this data
- Coverage is uneven. Nevada (129), Maryland (70), Michigan (68), California (17) supply most of the 298 tests, which date from 2020 to 2024; Oregon and Rhode Island results carry no product names and could not be matched.1
- Some labs report higher THC than others, so we publish medians and middle ranges rather than maxima. No single lab accounts for more than 23.2% of these tests (19 labs in total), but where the producer is recorded (159 tests), one producer accounts for 59.1%.1
- Terpene medians come from 142 tests with individual terpene values, 129 of them from Nevada labs. Maryland reports only total terpenes (69 tests), and the tests from Michigan, Colorado and Utah report none.1
- We matched names strictly: crosses and near-miss names (for example "Cheetah Piss × Lemonade", 5 results) are excluded and counted, duplicate certificates are removed, and products sold as Funky Kitty are not matched.1
